Modified HAM5 OFI Baffle Installation

(Chris S, Corey G, Keita K, Niko L, Tyler G)

HAM5 had a couple of installation activities slated for this week.  (Task#1 was the installation of a new beam dump near ZM2, on Tuesday.)  Task #2 (FRS #9647) involved baffling for the OFI (Output Faraday Isolator).  There was thought of a bigger job including installing new baffles around the OFI assembly, but we did not receive these parts in time for this week.  So it was scaled down to swapping the baffle which is already installed on the OFI with one which is the same part, but modified.

We had the original part (D0902845) installed on HAM5, but also had another one which was designated for a modification involving making a few cuts into it and bending a portion of the part up (this is to address a ghost reflection from the HAM5/6 Septum window (the crane north / +X window)).  Originally attempted to use a nibbler to make the cuts, but this was not possible & we (i.e. I) ultimately broke the tool.  Tyler G. was recruited to modify the part in the machine shop & he made the cuts using the mill (he did so in a best effort clean manner) & he also bent the part as called out as well.  Instructions for the modifications are in FRS #9647.  Chris S. then performed an overnight clean-bake on this modified part so we could install it today.  THANK YOU SO MUCH Tyler & Chris!!

HAM5 Work (I installed this after the morning meeting today [Thurs]):

To Do Item:  ICS what happened for this Task and ZM2 Beam Dump.

Photos/Attachments:

It was hard to take photos of this guy from the "output side" because it is on the edge of the table close to the septum (i.e. a tight fit).  Attempts are attached/described below.
