Summary of work:
HWS
-
No additional work since last friday
TCSy
-
The majority of the on table components have been staged on the table ready for alignment
-
The persicope mirrors were placed in the mounts and a red HeNe beam has been used to align a path for the laser to go up the periscope and be centered onto the CP
-
Having some troubles getting the laser to turn on. The 4 control boxes have to try on site (not counting the X-table one) do not enable. Even trying it on the TCSx table the control boxes do not enable. The TCSx box does enable when trialed on teh TCSy electronics, so it appears something is amiss with these boxes that will need to look into
TCSx

The optics and photodiodes for the ISS path have been aligned. Note: The photodidoes are not in their final position as I was cautious and didnt put the photodiodes as close to the focus as will need them to go as didnt want to fry them without trialing them. So need to push photodiodes back closer to focus to get all the beam into the photodiodes

Like TCSy, a red HeNe beam has been used to to align a path for the laser to go up the periscope and be centered onto the CP. We checked that we could scan the beam up and down and side to side across the optic within the range of the actuators on the top mirror on the periscope. Irises were placed in the beam path defined by the red beam to align the CO2 beam to
-
The breaker box for the ISS box sent recently from CIT for installation has been placed in series between the feedthrough and the ISS box as requested.
-
We have roughly aligned the central heating beam path onto the irises and are now working on the annular heating path being aligned to these irises also.
-
We stil have one more lens to put in as well and then fine tune alignment to he irises before ready for a projection
-
Laser shields have slowly started to be placed in where we can at the moment.
-
Also need to recheck alignment to the power meter and the FLIR camera as we have to adjust a beamsplitter to allow the CO2 beam to go into the irises, thue potentially having adjusted this beam path.
-
Ive also noticed that in MEDM that some channels are mislabeled so when get a chance will need to change these also
Thanks to everybody who was patient and allowed us to stay laser safe and the gate valves closed until we got both visible beam alignments done for both tables (I know we took a little longer than said we might)
And fingers crossed that the much talked about off table projection for TCSx occurs tomorrow at some stage :-)
