Faulty air valve on Kobelco drying tower (low output pressure alarm)
Discovered a low pressure alarm on the Corner Station purge air compressor (again) during pre-vent inspection (YBM). As before, the left drying tower air valve which exhausts regeneration air into the room was stuck open (or failed to close). This had happened a week or two ago and I had manualy stroked it closed. This "fix" had worked until now. -> This type of valve has an adjustment for the closing stroke and a second adjustment for the opening stroke. Inspection revealed that the nut used to lock the adjusting screw for the close stroke was missing. Without this nut the adjusting screw was free to back itself out to the point that the valve never actually closed. -> I couldn't find the missing nut but adjusted the screw to the proper stroke and then used a generic hardware type nut to lock it (original nut was blind and had an O-ring to eliminate air loss around the adjusting screw). I also replaced the muffler (much quieter now) -> System working again.
