~1505 hrs. local -> Noticed that blanked-off vent/purge valve was open at X-end -> Closed valve
With this valve open, only a single NW blank seal separates the VE (and beam tube with 44" gate valves open like current state) from atmosphere - Ouch! Closing this valve after rough pumping is in the procedure but was missed, apparently.
