EVE Ops Summary

TITLE:  12/14 EVE Shift:  00:00-08:00UTC (16:00-00:00PDT), all times posted in UTC

STATE of H1:   NLN @ 80Mpc.

Incoming Operator:  Nutsinee

Support:  Sheila On Phone at beginning of shift

Quick Summary:

useism continues its downward trend & winds never went above 18mph during the shift.

Noticed the IFO Guardian (seen off the GUARDIAN OVERVIEW) had a USERMSG about the BS ISI (basically it was related to the time ramps I changed earlier).  I think this will get ironed out when Sheila does her measurements tomorrow during Maintenance.

Had one lockloss which can be blamed on user & one which was mysterious.  The latter recovered to NLN in a quick 31min (and this was even with an ISS 2nd Loop that had to be engaged by hand...which appears to be the norm lately [due to useism?]).

Rebooted video5.

I posted the PSL Checklist (per the Ops Check sheet task for Monday).

Shift Log:

  • 0:58  Noticed oscillations on nuc1 (also peaks between 20-30Hz)
  • 1:30  Dropped out of Observing to address SR3 Cage Servo, but....
  • 3:02  Missed GRB
  • 4:26  Back to Observing
  • 6:23  Lockloss (Nothing obvious on StripTools or seismic)
  • 6:54  Back to Observing (locked on a Split Mode which I actually was able to align to a 0:0 [via BS pit] and then all the way up to NLN!)

Corey have asked me to followup the lockloss at 6:23 UTC which appeared to have no obvious cause. I ran the generic template lockloss tool and DHARD pitch seems to be the first of the control signal to go awry (Fig1 and 2). Hang's lockloss tool suggested OMC_A/B_SUM_OUT seems to be the first to go (Fig3). Andy's saturation tool suggested ETMY L3 to have gone first (Fig4). Spectrogram from the summary page didn't show anything obvious right before the lockloss (Fig5). Even Omicron didn't seem to notice anything out of ordinary. However, GND STS channel seems to have noticed something at ETMY in the EQ band around the time of the lockloss (Fig 6 and 7). There were no reports from either USGS or Terramon of any earthquakes prior to this lockloss. GND STS at HAM2, hAM5, and ITMY are seeing this too.
