I have finished my DQ shift at LHO for 23-26 March 2017. Here are the highlights:
- Average total duty cycle (in H1:DMT-ANALYSIS_READY): 81.48%
- Pretty terrible RF45 noise returned out of nowhere on Thursday 23 March, causing nasty broadband noise that brought the BNS range down to around 40 Mpc for several hours
- Thanks to valiant efforts from the team at Hanford, the harmonic generator was quickly swapped out with a spare, and after some phase tuning the instrument was able to re-lock within 12 hours
- After Thursday, the BNS range remained remarkably steady at 70 Mpc except for a few very short dips and the data were generally quite clean
- A few blip glitches on Friday and Sunday rang off several short-duration templates (< 0.5 seconds) in PyCBC
- We're still seeing oplev laser glitches in both ETMX and ETMY. The ETMX glitches were round 1 winners in HVeto both Friday and Sunday. Note, these gltiches are now easier to diagnose since the ETMX/ETMY pitch, yaw, and sum channels were added to the omega scan configuration.
