Recovery of Hartmann sensor table (ISCHT4) - day two (Thursday)

TJ, Aidan

We realigned the HWSX and HWSY on-table optics today. For both X and Y we ran through the alignment in the following procedure:

  1. Confirmed that the HWS beam projected from the SLED and collimating lens was very slightly converging when propagated over two meters
  2. Adjusted the pitch, yaw and roll of the fiber launcher so that the intensity distribution of the probe beam was axially-symmetric when projected two meters
  3. Locked down ROLL, X-translation, Y-translation and Z-translation locking screws on the fiber launcher
  4. Adjusted the beam so it was centered on each optic.
  5. Aligned the outgoing beam to the center of the lower periscope mirror.
  6. Adjusted the irises so that they were centered on the beam to better than a milli-meter.
  7. Locked all three locking screws on each of the mirrors.

Right now we're ready to inject the beams into the vacuum system. We won't be able to do this until the viewport covers are removed.

We also confirmed that both HWS cameras are accessible:

  1. HWSX can be reached from H1HWSMSR
  2. HWSY can be reached from H1HWSMSR1
