QUICK SUMMARY:

H1 locked and observing for ~7.5 hrs. Nothing from Jim regarding handoff. Had an encounter with our porcupine friend who startled me in the dark by taking to a tree and climbing up as I was walking up the path past the section of beam tube enclosure that shelters motorcycles. Jim and I went out and got some photos of it hanging out on a lower branch. It seemed very calm and probably wishing we would just go away. It's the first time I've seen one in the wild that wasn't road-kill. :)
