TITLE: 07/17 Eve Shift: 23:00-07:00 UTC (16:00-00:00 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Observing at 47Mpc

SHIFT SUMMARY:

Main issue of the evening was a 7.7 Earthquake.  There was some initial confusion with which ISI_CONFIG state to go to after the EQ (it knocked us out without much heads up).  Originally went to LARGE_EARTHQUAKE_NOBRSXY, but then switched to EARTHQUAKE_V2--ultimately went to the correct LARGE_EARTHQUAKE_NOBRSXY.  Then it was a waiting game for most of the shift.  

H1 has noise starting from 25+Hz giving us a range of 45Mpc.  

We worried about violin modes, but they seem OK (under e-15).
LOG:

• Rebooted alarm0 computer because Alarm Handler was not opening and Verbal was not letting us know about an EQ lockloss....
• ~23:49  7.7 Russian earthquake hits us and takes down SEI & SUS systems
• 1:34  TCSy low chiller alarm.  Added 250mL
• 2:25  Successfully isolated remaining ISIs:  HAM2 & 3.
  • IMC immediately then locked up.
• 3:40 GRB alert acknowledged by both sites
• 3:44 ISI Config:  BIG EARTHQUAKE NO BRSXY --->  WINDY
• Finally got H1 to OBSERVING in the last hour, but it broke lock...while I was frantically trying to damp MODE28.
• Returned to NLN just as Jeff arrived.  He is currently working on PI MODE28 (& it looks to be good).
