Center of Swiss Cheese baffle removed

Corey and I removed the center of the Swiss Cheese baffle today. We also got the corks in the eye baffle but we found a problem and did some extra damping that I will report on later.

Just adding a few notes & some photos for Swiss Cheese Plates removal from the MCA1 Baffle Assembly.

  • We wiped the floor of the MC Tube all the way down to the Swiss Cheese Baffle (wipes were dirtier closer to HAM2 & HAM3 and fairly clean in the tube).
  • There was a witness plate/conatimation wafer in the tube between HAM2 & the Swiss Cheese.  We picked it up & were not sure what to do with it.  As of last night it was loosely left on the SW corner of the HAM3 table.
  • For Swiss Cheese, we removed:  Upper & Lower Aperature Plates (now stored in "Baffle Boneyard" in LVEA) and all hardware (10-32 hardware & (3) Aperture Clips).
  • This work leaves the baffling MC Tube Baffle Ring Assy (assembly which is anchored to the Tube & provides foundation for baffling) & MC Tube Baffle Assy (basically a big donut with holes in it for the [12] vacuum ports on either side of the MC Tube---"Swiss Cheese" was the baffling inside the "donut" which was the two big parts removed).

Attaching a few photos (with names describing them).  Unfortunately, ResourceSpace has not been working for me for last few months, so not able to upload all my photos. :(
