SQZ Slow Control Testing

We tested Beckhoff communications to the SQZ chassis on the squeezer rack and ISC rack. Below is the summary:

Phase Shifter/Delay Line (U32, U23, U19)

 

6MHz Demod (U31)

CLF Common Mode Board Servo

 

SHG Common Mode Board Servo

 

LO and OPO Common Mode Board Servo

 

PZT Driver (There's only one PZT driver chassis that controls all the SQZ PZTs)

What's left to do?

 

Since every chassis has been tested to receive the signal properly prior to the installations (according to Daniel) I didn't bother to test that again (except for the VCO chassis, Sheila tested that one).

The demod power-OK readbacks for the 3MHz (LO/HD) and 6MHz (CLF) are now "working". There is no physical readback of these channels, so the value is just ignored. There is a physical readback for the OPP/SHG demod that is working.

For each of the two demods, SHG/OPO and LO/HD, the channels were switched in TwinCAT. This is now corrected.

The power-OK readback for the 42.4MHz RF amplifier in the CER seems broken.

Finished up the testing today. Here's the update:

TTFSS

  • All the buttons and slide bar works. For the fast gain and common gain: -10dB = -0.6V read out of the tester, 0dB = -0.3V, and 30dB = 0.6V.

Whitening Chassis (PD mon, SQZ rack)

  • Other than a couple of medm slide bars wouldn't go all the way to max gain setting or back to the lowest gain setting (the one that I found to be a problem were SHG_TRANS and SHG_GR screen), all slide bars and buttons triggered the light as they should.

Stuff from last week:

CLF and SHG Common Mode board

  • Looking at what came out of the EtherCat, CLF slow path filter switch didn't work. SHG boost and compensation switch still swapped (hitting boost sent signal to compensation and vice versa).
  • The CLF common mode EtherCat chassis is the middle one. Cable #317 and 318 correspond Controls1 and 2 on the other end. The SHG common mode EtherCat is the top one. Cable #339 and 340 correspond to Controls1 and 2. 

VCO

  • Fil finished the three cables that we found missing. 370, 371, and 371 are now plugged in.

Phase shifter

  • Sheila fixed the medm screen.

Demod

  • Daniel said they're fine. I took his word for it and didn't bother with any further testing.
