[Georgia, Sheila, TVo, Jenne]
We completed several tasks in HAM6 today, and will perhaps be (crossing fingers....) done in there tomorrow.
- Offload of sliders from yesterday (alog 40323) still good, while input beam in position from yesterday during the day. See snapshot of OM2 and OM3 outputs when those were used as the OMC ASC actuators (OMs_yesterdayAfternoonSettings.png, lower right corner). SR2 needed to move by about 20 urad for us to get through the OFI, but this is likely due to the input beam small shift from yesterday.
- Put input beam back to where Sheila and TVo had it last night (alog 40325), turned on OMC ASC again with OM2 and OM3 as actuators. Outputs still smallish, max ~4500 out of 32000 (OMs_yesterdayEveningSettings.png, lower right corner). Keeping this alignment going forward.
- Dressed the fast shutter wire, copying LLO's method of using the screw hole on the top of the shutter's shoulder.
- Put the OMC shroud piece that had been removed, back on.
- Ensured the beam transmitted through OM3 was roughly centered on the AS WFS. We can tweak this up a teeny bit with the picos when we have more power, but we're within about 0.5 normalized units of center for each WFS. This required translating the first steering mirror after OM3 a teeny bit, and twisting it in yaw. Dogged that one back down, then needed to twist the last steering mirror before the sled a small amount to center on the lens and mirrors on the sled. Used the screws that the pico motors are on to get the beams roughly centered on the WFS.
- Recentered the beam on the AS_C path. This required moving the lens right in front of AS_C a bit, although closer to its original position (we had moved it a bit last week when we first got beam onto AS_C).
- Replaced the OMC REFL beam dump black glass with SiC. We then moved the OMC REFL beam diverter out of the way (it will eventually be utilized by the squeezers on the other side of the table) and put the beam dump where the diverter had been. This means that we don't have beam on the OMC Refl QPDs, but I don't recall ever having used those signals in the last few years. This is also the same location that LLO used for their OMC REFL beam dump. This required a taller post, which Corey was able to find for us.
- Steered the beam that is for AS AIR to be hitting the center of the AS AIR beam diverter, when the beam diverter was closed. We'll check this again tomorrow once we have the viewport simulator installed, but this should certainly be pretty close.
- We can't see the beam at OMC Trans, that is supposed to come out to ISCT6 for the camera. With the purge air up, we can't lock the OMC, and we weren't able to see the flashes on an IR card. We'll think on this again tomorrow, but we're supposing that since the OMC hasn't moved, the trans beam should be coming out in the same place as it used to.
- We checked beam clearances. They all seemed good. TVo will post the numerical values as a comment to this alog.
Still to do:
- Check fast shutter reflection. We can't figure out how to get the fast shutter to stay closed. With the driver and high voltage on, we were able to get it to close, but then it would immediately reopen. It has been suggested that if the driver is on, it might "drift up", but if this doesn't happen overnight we'll need some help convincing the shutter to stay closed while we finalize its position.
- Check AS Air path comes out of viewport simulator.
- Check OMC Trans path comes out of viewport simulator (maybe, if we think we'll be able to see the beam).
- Take photos, including fast shutter wire clearance, location of new SiC beam dump.
