Sheila, Nutsinee, (with Lisa and Fabrice on the phone)
Yesterday afternoon we made prepared to swap the M1 mirror for the higher 532 reflectivity version. I pulled the low finesse mirror out of the cavity, but then noticed that the high finesse mirror isn't usable because of glue on the back of the optic. We put the original mirror back in using the tooling that Fabrice sent. There are spots for two alignment pins to be used in installing the mirrors, Fabrice had only used one of the pins (the front one) in constructing the cavity. I found it easier to place the mirror such that I could see cavity flashes without the pin in place. The pin is now in the bag with the tooling in case we want to use it for a future swap.
I placed the mirror without moving the green beam which had originally been alinged to the cavity, to get cavity flashes, but then adjusted the input alingment for both red and green to get a good alignment into the cavity.
Fabrice and Lisa are making another attempt at gluing today at MIT, so we might have one more chance to swap the optic.
