The leak detector which had been working yesterday would not calibrate today.  "Gain too high" notification is a known indication that the multiplier has degraded or is dirty.  As such, we weren't able to calibrate.  Soooo..... another leak detector unit was substituted.  We sprayed the new joint and got a response but one  which was a little delayed - probably crosstalk with the turbo+lines.  The maximum signal was 9.8 x 10-9 torr*L/sec.  Anyway, our maintenance time expired so we will revisit this tomorrow while the X-arm is valved out (mid-station valve to be throttled to block the beam at the request of the commissioners). 

We are leaving the leak detector running overnight.
