We've been able to lock (on RF) several times tonight, but each lock only lasted a few minutes.
- I added the DHARD P compensation filter and gain increase that I've been doing manually to the guardian.
- We think that often when we grab the DRMI lock we unlock when the guardian switches off the limiter on the beam splitter. the largest signal to the BS is due to the PRCL oscillation (we acquire with a high gain setting). As a test I put the gain decrease for PRCL before turning off the limiter, this hasn't really solved the prolem. Earlier tonight I had removed teh SRCL mode hopping offset, and for about three lock acquitisions after that we didn't have any of the short locks, but then they returned.
- We have commented out the gain redistribution in the ANALOG_CARM state, we lost lock once doing this and it needs to be re-written for our current gain settings anyway.
- The CARM loop may be the reason we keep loosing lock so quickly. These lock losses have had a very quick glitch visible in DARM and about 0.1 of a second later we loose lock.
- We also have lost lock frequently while engaging DHARD WFS. It think that this might be because the michelson gets misaligned when DHARD comes on, so it might be helpful if we could run at least a BS alignment loop during lock. Hang looked at the 72 MHz signal for this, but earlier tonight it wasn't a good choice. I have changed the DHARD WFS state so that the signal is only sent to the ETMs for now, we can add it back in when we have some ASC working.
I also doubled the gain to compensate.
I started the ETMX ring heater test, but another EQ is starting just now.
