TITLE: 08/21 Day Shift: 15:00-23:00 UTC (08:00-16:00 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Observing at 114Mpc
INCOMING OPERATOR: Jeff
SHIFT SUMMARY:
H1's been at NLN since 9:16utc (2:16am) this morning with a couple of non-Observing breaks:
- Characterize new H1 spots was used this morning (marked as Calibration & Commissioning for just over 2hrs).
- PRCL Feedforward measurements (Kara & Sheila)
TOMORROW: Tenative plans for planned out-of-OBSERVING work for H1 & L1 (assuming V1 is Observing) is slated for 11amPDT (PEM team for ~60min).
LOG:
- 15:10 Transitioned to EARTHQUAKE state
- 15:30 Begin seeing ASC signals increase (mainly SRC1_P_OUT16 control signal)
- 15:31 This is when main R-Wave appears to roll in
- 15:37 EQ noise begins to decrease.
- 15:54 Back to WINDY.
- Optics Lab incursions
- 15:52-16:22, 16:25-17:28, 17:31-19:29, after_lunch-21:23, 22:46- Patrick

- 16:03-18:34 Out of OBSERVING for CALIBRATION & COMMISSIONING measurements (related to new spot & weekly calibration) [JeffK, Sheila]
- 17:11 GRB notifcationas:
- 17:11 GRB FERMI: Could ignore
- 17:14 GRB SWIFT: Real for Stand Down, but h1 was in OBSERVING so we ignore. On TeamSpeak with JoeH, and confirmed they should STAND DOWN 15min since they have been in OBSERVING for more almost 4hrs.
- 18:34 Back to OBSERVING (Calibration & Commissioning work post-spot-change is complete)
- 18:37 Trip to MY...dropping off vacuum (Karen)
- Some time around lunch time video0 computer was decommissioned and TVs swapped out for it.
- 21:19 GRB FERMI received and this was good for a 15min standdown until 21:34.
- 22:08 PRCL Feedforward measurement (Kara, Sheila). Marked as COMMISSIONING
- 22:35 Lockloss due to COMMISSIONING measurement. Will leave Observatory Mode in COMMISSIONING to mark this down time until we are back to Nominal_Low_Noise.
- Lockloss#1 Notes:
- Green Arms locked fine, but PRMI looked dead/misaligned (saw yaw flashing, so have been working on PRM & BS). I made an attempt and fixing, along with Ed, but we had no luck....
- So, looks like H1 will need an Initial Alignment & this is how I hand it over to JeffB.
