TITLE: 10/01 Owl Shift: 07:00-15:00 UTC (00:00-08:00 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Observing at 117Mpc
INCOMING OPERATOR: Niko
SHIFT SUMMARY:
BRSx continues to NOT be used.
O3A is officially COMPLETE! (& we had plenty of people checking to see if H1 would break lock early, but it held up until 8am!)
LOG:
- MX Low temperature alarms continue.
- 11:53:49 HUGE glitch (aka "DCPD" on Verbal) which was above the ADS lines for quite some time...so was pretty sure it would be a tough one.
- 11:54:05 Lockloss
- LOCKING#1 (11:55-12:04)
- Both X & Y green arms were misaligned and required (mostly pit) tweaks for both ETMs.
- Accidentally caused lockloss by runnin an INIT on CHECK MICH FRINGES (didn't know that would take it DOWN). Since DRMI had been looking ugly for previous locks, thought I'd check the BS & PRMI first. Oh well---Lockloss caused by user/operator error on this one.
- LOCK#2 (12:07-12:39)
- Check Mich Fringes was still a little rough to use (I'm used to it being locked on a fringe and the AS AIR video clearly showing where to take the BS), but eventually was able to figure out where to steer the BS (had to wait for BS to flash to give an idea of which way the BS was misaligned). This state is usable, but not as easy as I'd seen it previously.
- PRMI locked up fairly fast. For DRMI, I tweaked the SRM in pit to try to help with locking...whether that helped is a judgement call.
- Lockloss at ENGAGE ASC
- LOCK#3 (12:40-13:21)
- Went directly to DRMI. Hung out at PREP ASC for a few minutes and then moved on to NLN.
- 13:21 Observing
- 14:12 Apollo in Control Room to work on FMCS computer for MX HVAC
- 14:24 Apollo doing HVAC work at MX & then MY
- 14:46 PEM Injection started. Out of Observing (Had a Segmentation Fault for 1st attempt, but it worked on 2nd attempt...Jeff might post text for the fault)
- 14:46 Observatory Mode to PLANNED ENGINEERING
