NCAL Update -- Swapping bearings and re-assesment of NCAL parts

[Rick Savage, Jeff Kissel, Timesh Mistry]

Update of NCAL progress from 03rd October 2019

Swapped Bearings

As mentioned in LHO alog 52258 (2nd bullet point), the bearing that were supplied were not the same ones as called out in the final design review document. We had ordered the correct ones and they arrived 20191003. We pressed out the old, unsealed bearings, and pressed in the new sealed bearings (figure 1). Whilst the bearing were out, we took the opportunity to clean up the inner surface of the bearing housing. There appeared to be some type of adhesive between the bearing outer surface and the housing inner surface.

Marked Rotor Holes

We used a permanent marker to re-numbered the holes on the NCAL main rotor (figure 2) since the old number were removed during the cleaning process. In addition, we etched a number 1 into the rotor to aid with re-acquiring the holes allocation should the pen marks become un-readable (figure 3).
