STATE of H1: Observing at 117Mpc

SHIFT SUMMARY:

Down for 1hr39min due to 6.7 Turkey EQ. (no trouble relocking).  Then had a sort of random lockloss (I'm blaming a nearby EQ in Canada!)

For relocking, had possible issues at FIND IR due to "low" flashes with the Y-arm (also see Jenne's alog about the BS & PR3).  Then had locklosses atleast 4x in row at CARM TO TR (this is when I called for assistance from Jenne), so finally ran an alignment, and so far it seems to be making its way back up to NLN *fingers crossed*

(NOTE:  Winds picked up quite a bit in the afternoon.)
LOG:

• 16:50 Both roads down the roads are clear (Tyler)
• 18:02 EQ Alert:  6.7 Turkey clearly in the "large eq" regime.  Virgo lost lock, LLO dropped out of observing at 18:17 (but stayed lock until 18:35!) 
  • 18:18 transitioned to EARTHQUAKE preemptively.
  • 18:21 LOCKLOSS !!
  • 18:21 transitioned to LARGE_EQ_NOBRSXY *
  • * 18:30 transitioned back to EARTHQUAKE after chatting with Jim (we are still waiting for R-wave arrival, and so will only transition to LARGE_EQ_NOBRSXY if we see bigger effects and ISI trips).
  • 18:42 R-wave beggining to finally roll through!  & peaks at 18:50
  • Summary:  No watchdogs tripped and begin to see stable Green Arms around 19:22.

• 18:25-18:58 OMC Dark measurements at rack (Sheila)
• 18:37 Propane forklift work near corner station (Scott)
• 19:23 Begin relocking
• 19:54 Incursion to Diode Room (Jason, Peter, Dave)
• 20:00 OBSERVING.
  • 20:01 SEI_CONF back to WINDY
• 20:50, 20:57:  Corner station gusts to 40+mph (& 50+mph!)
• 21:17 - 23:00 Trip to MX (Kyle)
• 21:37 Lockloss....due to fast and close 4.5 EQ off of southern Vancouver Island.
  • No Verbal.  (so no time to transition to EARTHQUAKE)
  • Could see shaking via CPS's & Peak Mon ndscope around time of lockloss.  (but nothing really seen on seis_blrms on wall)
  • 21:42 USGS posts the earthquake whose event time was 21:35; marking Observatory Mode as EARTHQUAKE.  (NOTE:  Jim suspects wind on this one.)
• 22:21 EQ Alert:  5.3 Off Nicaragua Pacific Coast, it's in middle of "earthquake" regime. 
• 23:01-23:25 Running an Initial Alignment after several locklosses at CARM TO TR.
