HAM7 SQZ Cable Routing update

Keita, Camilla. Follow on from alog 59785. Cable bracket to component SQZ cable status below. Cable document is D1900278. The last cable that attached to the VOPO is #7.

Photos of routing attached, the photos show the cable brackets. Old cable brackets have to be used in some places as the SUS AOSEM cables are old style so do not fit the new brackets.

The plan was to attach all cables to the OPO lid but the cables were stiff enough that it made more sense for some of them to go straight to the SUS support. Cable #11 is cable tied to the OPO, #3 has a secondary cable bracket on the OPO lid, #4 is cable tied to the secondary bracket. #8, #9 go straight to SUS support.

Cables #6 and #7 have been installed. We will not plug in SK and D picos until the optics are near their final positions.

The H:M1, H:M2 cables have been routed over the VOPO (see photos 2 and 3). The routing of the H:M2 cable means that CB-6 will need to be closer to the OPOS than expected, nearer the location of the secondary bracket for #3.  This shouldn't be a problem as the #5,6,7 flange to CB cables should have plenty of slack to reach. Will check with Jim- tagging SEI

We had to tilt the L-shaped brackets that hold the pico mighty mouse connectors for H:M1, H:M2 as the optics posts were too short to give the connector enough clearance to point straight down (see photo). This required temporarily removing the black glass clip. We did this carefully so hopefully didn't shift the alignment of the H-path.

VOPO cable routing is now complete. We plan to balance the OPOS today and install the fibers tomorrow (expect minimal change to balancing) if all goes well.

We re-routed the cables before balancing the OPOS (alog 59939) after TJ's advice that having them attached to multiple hard points would have less chance of rubbing.

See photo attached. We now have both SF1 and SFI2 cables (#8,9) going to the H2, V2 post. h1,v1,h2,v2 aosems and OPO TEC (#10,11) to H1, V1 post (as before) and lens translation, OPO peizo, h3,v3 aosems and both pico cables (#3,4,5,6,7) to H3, V3 post (as before).

Adding record of flange to CB cables below.

We decided we need #11 OPO temperature controls next week- once we have the OPO locked in green, use the temperature controls to  make sure that the cavity is also resonant for 1064nm. This cable is being sent from CIT and Jim will install it next week. The #6,7,9 cables for picos and SFI2 are going to be at minimum 3+ weeks out. We decided it's okay to install these at the end and test before closing up.

camilla.compton@LIGO.ORG - 16:52, Monday 13 December 2021 (61031)

This morning Jim and I installed cables #6, 7 and 9 from the roof flange D8 onto the ISI cable brackets.

Cables between cable bracket and component for picomotors SK:BS1, SK:M1, D:M1, D:M2  still need to be connected. This should be done with care so the mirrors aren't bumped- maybe even with laser on to check alignment is kept. The two spare quadrapus cables need to be coiled and secured. Check the pico cable drawing D1101516 and cabling doc  D1900278 for which tentacles to connect. ICS ASSY-D1900278-LHO updated.

camilla.compton@LIGO.ORG - 11:55, Wednesday 15 December 2021 (61076)

Picomotor cables have now been connected to the mirror mounts but not yet tested

Pico cable  Mirror mount
#6 Cable 1 (rightmost, near pin25) SK:BS1
#6 Cable 2 Spare (coiled up with SK:BS1/M1 excess)
#6 Cable 3 SK:M1
#6 Cable 4 Spare (coiled up with SK:BS1/M1 excess)
#7 Cable 1 (rightmost, near pin25) D:M2
#7 Cable 2 D:M1
#7 Cable 3 H:M2
#7 Cable 4 H:M1

To do:

  • The cable bracket these pico cables are in could do with having a dog clamp added to secure it as I could only get one bolt in near the edge. Photo attached.
  • When finished adding QPDs and SEI weights, more cable ties or peek clamps should be added to secure all cables.

camilla.compton@LIGO.ORG - 17:08, Wednesday 26 January 2022 (61467)

Today I added a dog clamp to CB-6 as needed in alog 61076. It is now secure.

camilla.compton@LIGO.ORG - 14:54, Friday 28 January 2022 (61506)

Picomotors were tested and all working, see alog 61505. I swapped SK:M1 from cable 3 to cable 1. This does now not match the D1900278 cable document but matches the actual cabling.
