* We've got the ALS beam centered through the Faraday, and roughly centered through the reference irises and on the two ALS periscope mirrors.
* We've also got the pickoff for the ALS fiber roughly aligned. We chose the wrong of the two identically(!!) labeled cables for the fiber distribution box's 'external' photodiode. The cable connected to the chassis out in the racks is the one with the red marker dot on it. I'll swap that tomorrow.
* I adjusted the amount of power going toward the EOM such that that 'external' photodiode (before I realized the cable was wrong) has a power incident on it of about 0.1 mW as measured by a power meter. This compares with 0.33 mW in Oct 2019. Eventually, when we're sending all of our power to the EOM, we expect to have about double the power that we did in Oct 2019 when the new ALS path was first set up. (Since I had the wrong cable plugged in, I wasn't seeing any signal in the digital system).
* I'm still not seeing any signal on the 'internal' photodiode that (I infer / assume) is measuring the power coming out of the ALS fiber, in the distribution box. I'll ask around tomorrow if folks know anything about that, since it seems like our best read of whether we're aligned properly into the ALS fiber.
* The roving power meter just after shutter 2 measures 137.8 W. We need to adjust the calibration of the PD that monitors Amp2 output to match this value. ---> Adjusted the settings table column "Laser PD", row 3 to be 37.8 from old value of 36.2. Now PD3 on main PSL Beckhoff control screen is more accurate.
