HWS Vertex alignment

Camilla, TJ. WP 10256

TJ removed the viewport covers and reattached the two bellow tubes between the table and HAM4. I removed the lexan guillotine covers, placed them in the nearby cable tray and installed the dust covers.

We had trouble communicating with the cameras. We disconnected and reconnected power and power cycled the h1hwsmsr and  h1hwsmsr1 chassis in the MSR. Turned out it was because I had to power on the “Power Distribution Hartman Sensor” chassis  which is power for CLinks. Also did a init_hws_cam command and they worked fine. Note the cameras are powered by the power supply in the floor so do not respond to Beckhoff ON/OFF commands.

SLED beams were already aligned to the irises. With ALS locked we used both periscope mirrors to align both X and Y to both irises and STEER M10 (layout D1400252)  to align to the front of the CCD cameras.

ALSX beam looks low on the viewport and nearly clipped on upper periscope mirror so the alignment will need to be adjusted. Photos attached.

Still need to remove Hartmann plate (done with camera power off) and check beam alignment/ clipping to make HWS beams look better and move SR3 to check the in-vac range.

Austin and I moved SR3 as described in T1700163 until the ALS beam became clipped/disappeared before the top periscope mirror on HWS table- i.e. the beam is clipped in vacuum. I've attached plots of the PIT/YAW SR3 alignment sliders when the ALS beam is clipped. Darker color point is the nominal alignment. It's possible the BS alignment will change a little once MICH has been locked. Attached are slider values when our clipping measurements were taken.

Nominal is currently very close to the clipped values for the X path. May need to look into realignment in vacuum using the new picos.
