WP#10356. Austin and I aligned the masks to the beam in alog61704 and in last weeks ring heater test and power up the HWS looked aligned to ITMY.
I have keyed on CO2 X and Y lasers. They have been left keyed on but OFF in EPICS.
I turned on CO2Y and searched for home. I turned the CO2 beam on to 2W turned off picoed and repeated. The beam is not well aligned. Will need to spend more time on alignment tomorrow. Attached is image of annular mask at starting pico values.
Started with CO2Y Top perescope mirror picos at (-6000,4000) I've moved to (0,2000) but I think we where better where we started!
Continued pico-ing the morning. CO2Y 2W applied for 2 minutes then left at 0W too cool down for 5-10 minutes, I used the annular mask as it's more distinctive to see. Ended with piocs at (x: -9000, y -7000). Attached images of HWS with annular and central masks in CO2 beam. I hope that after noisy work this afternoon we could lock the IFO in single bounce MICH bright and run the CO2 modulation plus pico script that Georgia wrote last year to get the best alignment (alogs 58162 58146). Leaving CO2Y off.
CO2Y Upper Periscope Pico | Moves beam at IY HWS |
+ x | Left |
+ y | Up |
For reference, here is a link to the annular mask design. As you can see, there are 16 spokes in the central section - we see these 16 features in the HWS measurement.
In alog62631 Dan pointed out this wasn't centered to the IFO beam position. This morning I adjusted picos further from (x: -9000, y -7000) to (x: -8250, y -4500). Plot attached along with a photo of both the IFO beam and annualr ring heater layed on top of each other.
