A list for posterity:

• Beam propagation (how close do we match the design?)
• Alignment (how well is our system aligned
  •  have we blocked ITM return beam? [This can confuse interpretation of alignment]
• Imaging (how close is our HWS to the conjugate plane of the ETM)
• Saturation - make sure the frame rate of the camera is high enough that there are no saturated pixels (with the Hartmann plate installed)
• Check the cleanliness of the optics - is there dust on them?
• Operation:
  • Check coupling of tilt to spherical power (does tilting the optic introduce an apparent spherical power signal)?
  • Check that there is no leakage light from 1064nm (or other wavelengths) into the HWS
