Checking location of TCS CO2X on FLIR, Rotation stage frozen

Mitchell, Camilla, TJ, Fil

We took photos of the CO2X on the FLIR with central, annular, and no mask. These look very similar to when checked in January alog 61475. We did this as were questioning whether the TCS CO2X beam has moved in alog 65779. I think it has not moved. We were going to check centering on QPDs but didn't.

While doing this test the rotation stage got stuck inputting 1W (with central mask). We left the laser off to avoid any unnecessary heating. TJ found a similar situation happened in 2016 – alog29374.   We tried unplugging the rotation stage itself and Fil and TJ unplugged the rotation stage power from the back of the ethercat chassis in the CER. TJ tried cycling the remote power cycle relay with H1:TCS-ITMX_CO2_LASERPOWER_POWERDOWNSWITCH (via sitemap > TCS > CO2X > Power control > Rotation stage settings > Enable/Disable). This didn’t seem to fix it. We told Daniel about this and he will check for Beckhoff issues.

We nominally use CO2X when we get to 25W input in the IFO but CO2X has been left OFF. Tagging Opsinfo.

Daniel didn't find a Beckhoff issue so TJ swapped rotation stage readback and power cables in Ethercat Chassis in CER to isolate if this is a hardware or software issue.

Requesting CO2Y changes in medm changes CO2X rotation stage.  Requesting CO2X changes in medm doesn't make anything move. So both physical rotation stages work. But the CO2X software isn't working.

Fil suggests a software and hardware restart should happen once we have a lockloss.
