WP 11109 WP 11118 Jason O., Patrick T. Installed Git-2.39.1-64-bit.exe. Created a folder on the Desktop called gitlab and cloned https://git.ligo.org/cds/ifo/beckhoff/lho-psl into it. Installed Visual Studio Community 2019 including extensions for .NET development. Jason shut down the laser. Installed TwinCAT 3.1.4024.35 integrating it into Visual Studio 2019. Rebooted the computer after the TwinCAT installation. Opened the TwinCAT%20Projekt_LIGO_140323 project in the gitlab clone. Changed the Ethernet adapter to match our computer. Changed the types of terms 23 and 24 to match our terminals. Changed 3 to 4 for the "for loop" upper bound on line 24 in the DIAG code. Did not complete "Copy and commit the current running software to https://git.ligo.org/cds/ifo/beckhoff/lho-psl". Not certain which folder this was running from. The currently running code is in https://git.ligo.org/cds/ifo/beckhoff/lho-psl/-/tree/main/TwinCAT%20Projekt_LIGO_140323 at commit https://git.ligo.org/cds/ifo/beckhoff/lho-psl/-/commit/fc7ed26ab0cb1ac10b4baa834b55d0fe95efc591 in the Desktop\gitlab\lho-psl folder. The description of the commit is "Updates from putting into production." on April 11 2023.
In testing the new code upon install, we found most of the bugs fixed:
The one bug that was not fixed was "turning on the NPRO Noise Eater turns the NPRO off." This is still ocurring, we tested it multiple times. If the NPRO is running, actuating the Noise Eater On/Off button immediately turns the NPRO off; it does not matter if the Noise Eater if on or off, any press of this button turns the NPRO off. Will reach out to the vendor and LLO (who apparently do not have this problem) to look into a fix. In addition, if the amplifiers are running and the power watchdogs are yet to be set, and the Noise Eater On/Off button is pressed, the NPRO and only the NPRO turns off. The amplifiers remain on, which means there is the possibility of back-propagating Amplified Spontaneous Emission from Amp2 being amplified by Amp1. So as it stands right now, do not press the Noise Eater On/Off button for any reason. Honestly, if the PSL turns off call Ryan Short, Jenne, or myself.
Yes as Jason mentioned the Noise eater turn on/turn off worked for us at LLO after Maik fixed the bug he found. I can try it again at a suitable time to see if it still works and doesnt turn the NPRO off. Im not sure what would be different between the sites as to why it wouldnt be working at LHO now if it worked on the LLO system.
Retesting this at LLO, we now have the same issue as LHO with the Noise Eater on/off turning off the NPRO ? Weird, as we had this fixed. We will need to schedule another session with Maik.
