We setup a link to the h1pemmx ipmi port today.  Fil ran a fiber (fiber #5) from the patch panel in EX to the sw-ex-h1fe switch.  We linked that in to interface 1/3/3.  The other end was in mid-x, we added a media converter convert from fiber to ethernet.  We booted h1pemmx and reset its ipmi address.  Now both MX and MY computers are reachable by ipmi (provides remote power, console, ...).  Again we used a bi-directional optic so that we only needed one fiber strand.
