Today the final horizontal panel cable has been strung! There are a few things to wrap up before this project is complete. There are three vertical cables yet to lace. Once complete the tails can be trimmed and taped up to reduce potential damage to the panel. Time pending one guide wire needs to be replaced, as well as addressing one area approximately 10' on the original panel where the hog rings have failed.
As you can see the wildlife is very determined and ambitious. The nesting material in the photo was placed between Friday afternoon and Monday morning of last week. There have been other attempts since. This will stop once the final vertical cable is laced, as there will be no room for a nest between the panel and the pole.
The process of installing the panels can be seen in the pictures. The panel was pulled up via four ropes to the 5th cable and attached with carabiners for support. Then the horizontal cable was laced. This process was repeated, pulling the remaining half of the panel up to the 7th cable and secured.
Nice! The EY Wind Fence is back in business! Thanks teams Facilities and DetEng! Tagging a few other interested teams.
