TITLE: 05/21 Day Shift: 15:00-23:00 UTC (08:00-16:00 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Lock Acquisition
SHIFT SUMMARY:
Locking:
- Multiple earthquakes made locking extremely challenging this morning (alog 69776). After a large 5.6 magnitude earthquake off the coast of California tripped ISI watchdogs, I was finally able to run (and complete) an initial alignment by 20:01 and relock. NLN reached @ 20:55, Observing @ 21:14
- Lockloss @ 22:51; the CR lights flickered right as this lockloss happened. Trending the mains voltage channels (attached), this seems like a fairly obvious case of a power glitch. A quick check of CDS shows that all systems are okay and do not need recovery (tagging CDS, just in case)
- H1 is now relocking itself
Other:
- Mike, Sheila, Kim B., and film crew onsite throughout the day for filming
- Heavy rain and thunderstorms for about 45 minutes this morning; lightning strike started a brush fire north at Hanford (no risk to site)
- nuc30 continues to misbehave, and the CR is still warm (both noted in my report yesterday)
LOG:
16:00 - Mike and film crew onsite (brief trip in LVEA while down for EQs, CR, overpass)
