TITLE: 06/06 Day Shift: 15:00-23:00 UTC (08:00-16:00 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Preventive Maintenance
SHIFT SUMMARY: Maintenance day. During maintenance there was a temperature excursion in the LVEA and end stations moving temperatures by just over a degree F (alog70194). This was enough for our alignment to be too far off to lock. The main symptoms were ALS COMM beatnotes very low and ALS Y not able to lock or get decent flashes, and the ALS camera images more clipped than usual. Moving PR3 would be temporarily helpful, but as the temperatures were moving back, the alignment would change again. Temps returned a few hours ago, but the suspensions aren't back yet. PR3 Yaw started the day at 153.5, it is now at 154.6 but we have made it past DC readout and are powering up.
At the next lock loss, it would probably be good to see if moving PR3 back in the direction of the 153.5 would be beneficial as the suspensions get back to their previous positions. Go to a green arms locking state and if cameras look clipped, buildups are poor even though alignment seems as best you can get, and beatnotes are bad (assuming you can get the arms locked), then move PR3 and see if these issues improve.
