TITLE: 07/03 Day Shift: 15:00-23:00 UTC (08:00-16:00 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Observing at 145Mpc
SHIFT SUMMARY:

Shift for the most part was nice & quiet but then fires (photo attached) & earthquakes!  (but H1's on its way back).

Mentioned to Ryan that if there is any catastrophic/unsafe incidents (i.e. fire) which are a cause for concern/safety---he should think of his safety first and leave when comfortable.  Also mentioned it's probably to keep H1 in a DOWN state.  Then notify Mike/Richard/Keita (in place of Jenne this weekend).  And give a status update on the alog.  (hope this all sounds right!)  Also:  we have binoculars in the Control Room---in the back corner on top of file cabinet near the white board.)

• LOCKS:  First few locks have been dropping out due to lingering EQ motion
• LOCK#1:  Only stayed at DRMI a few secs and guardian took to PRMI (it locked at low values, but ASC maximized).  Lockloss at CHECKAS SHUTTERS
• LOCK#2:  lockloss at FIND IR
• LOCK#3:  Currently just powered up to 25W & Handing this lock off to Ryan C.

LOG:

• 1829-1831 Noticed that UPS arrived on-site
• 2014-2140 Labview work in PCal lab (Tony)
• 2018 "Incoming EQ" verbal alarm (M5.4 from Azerbaijan area.....note:  USGS webpage on nuc31 does not show this EQ with it's zoom on the earth).
  • 2045 begin to see oscillations on Picket Fence
• 2048 Landry phoned in to inquire about a fire in the Benton City area.
  • 2105 Went up to Observation Deck with binoculars.  At this point it was hard to see & might be dying down.
  • 2145 Picks back bigger than initial plume!
• 2112 "Incoming EQ" verbal alarm (M5.7 from Vanuatu)
• 2138 "Incoming EQ" verbal alarm (M4.8 from Vanuatu)
• 2148 LOCKLOSS
  • EQ Mode activated 3min after lockloss
