TITLE: 07/14 Owl Shift: 07:00-15:00 UTC (00:00-08:00 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Observing at 133Mpc
SHIFT SUMMARY:
Other than a rumbling & fast earthquake, it was a nice shift.
LOCK#1:
- Immediately took H1 to CHECK MICH FRINGES as soon as seismic motion calmed down. (1st attempt didn't work, but 2nd completed fine)
- Went to PRMI & could see pit + yaw misalignment for the PRM, so touched those up & PRMI locked up fine.
- For DRMI could see pit+yaw misalignment, so tweaked SRM in pit & then locked up fine.
- Held at CHECK VIOLINS (ISC LOCK also said violins were "high", so had to stop here regardless) & looked at the violin wiki to see what I could damp at 2W.
- Kept moving through ISC_LOCK as violins would allow.
- Took time at DAMP VIOLINS FULL POWER due to sleeps
- NOTE: DARM FOM was hard to use/gauge during these steps because it had alot of noise (PCals were elevated...not sure if we call this the "Xmas tree" DARM, but it's not standard, but Ryan mentioned we get this even at NLN from time to time---just odd to see it at this state for me)
- Went to DAMP VIOLINS FULL POWER---after DAMP VIOLINS node was done, continued up to OMC WHITENING.
- ADC counts were 818k at OMC whitening (needed to be under 524k)....so now another waiting game with violins.
- Took about 45min before NLN
- Took break to make lunch and switched to AUTOMATIC OPERATION for GRD_IFO.
- While at NLN, had ASC SDF diffs. Once these were ACCEPTED, GRD_IFO, immediately took OBSERVATORY MODE to OBSERVING. I then switched it back to MANAGED.
LOG:
- 09:36:24 Earthquake Mode ACTIVATED
- 09:36:46 Lockloss due to M6.3 earthquake (off the Pacific coast of Mexico's state of Chiapas)
- This was a fast earthquake, in that USGS didn't post anything until well after the lockloss.
- 0951 ITMy SEI trips
- 0957 Going to hold at ISOLATED DAMPED a few min
- 0955 Holding H1 for 30min at LOCKING ARMS GREEN.
- Still too much motion for Green Arms & orange/yellow picket fences.
- 1015 Giving H1 another 30min!
- 1048 return to locking for LOCK#1
