TITLE: 07/24 Day Shift: 15:00-23:00 UTC (08:00-16:00 PST), all times posted in UTC
STATE of H1: Observing at 150Mpc
SHIFT SUMMARY:
High winds forecast from 18utc July24 to 6utc Jul25 (or 11am-11pm today).
Had (3) locklosses today which made for a rough go, and L1 was down for logging today.
LOG:
- 1512 LOCKLOSS after 24min of OBSERVING :( Lockloss Tools says it was due to OMC DCPD
- Then we were stuck at PREP_FOR_LOCKING
- Turns out H1_MANAGER was in an "ASSISTANCE_REQUIRED" state since 1340utc (640amPT)---TJ guesses due to violin damping. There was no noticeable notification for the operator on this (TJ mentioned).
- TJ ran INIT on H1_MANAGER and this got things going again.
- TJ loaded new code for guardian
- ~1710 H1_MANAGER automatically turned on OMC Whitening for ISC_LOCK and also to NLN (there were a couple of DCPDs shortly afterward, but we made it through without having to turn OFF the whitening).
- 1725 OBSERVING
- 1520 Forklifting around Corner Station (randy)
- 1550-1659 HEPI/Dust Monitor FAMIS checks (mitch)
- 1652 PCal Lab Maintenance prep (tony)
- 1758 LOCKLOSS after about 33min of OBSERVING :( We had just begun seeing high winds before this lockloss.
- Left H1 & H1_MANAGER to bring back H1.
- New DHARD_Y FM1 filter was enabled for this lock by Gabriele
- New 1.5kHz violin mode monitor filter was loaded by Rahul
- 2108 Back to Observing
- 1834 Mid station parts search (chris)
- 1840 Optics Lab dust alarm (about 1hr after winds increased)
- 1857 H1PSL had dust alarm
- 1945 Working on adding nuch for nuc26 cameras in control room (erik, fil, tony)
- 1956 Received notice from L1 Operator that logging is complete and they are returning to locking!
- 2158 Noticeable drop in range (SQZ looked fine according to Naoki, and Gabriele confirmed his DHARD_Y was not ca culprit).
- 2246 LOCKLOSS!
- Not sure we can blame winds, but we just had some gusts up near/at 40mph
- Sadly handing over an unlocked H1 to Oli :(
