The Vacuum Controls VME system in the corner station mechanical room (h0vemr) was booted against the new Linux based vxworks boot server as a first test. The plan is to migrate all Vacuum VME sysems from the legacy Sun Solaris boot servers to the new server, at which point the Sun servers can be decommissioned. This will reduce the power and heat loading of the MSR, and remove reliance on an old RAID unit which is showing errors.
