ITMy OpLev Signal was Lost, but now Found

J. Oberling, F. Clara, T. Shaffer

TJ let me know that the ITMy OpLev signal had gone missing, so I went looking for it.  Checked the laser, found running as normal.  All the electronics looked good, tried power cycling the whitening chassis in the biergarten, signal still lost.  TJ tried moving the ITMy around to see if we were grossly misaligned, but still no signal.  Trending the OpLev SUM, the signal was lost at ~10:34am PST on February 15th.  The only things going on in the biergarten that day were Ryan C. and myself doing water level surveying around BSC2 and Fil pulling cables in the biergarten area.  Fil and I went out to the LVEA and started looking at the cable runs, turns out the original OpLev signal cable was not long enought to get to the whitening chassis in the biergarten, so another cable was used to extend it.  We found the cables disconnected at this point, between BSC8 and BSC1.  Unfortunately, the connection was not secured at all, so our best guess is that while Fil was pulling cables something snagged on the OpLev signal cable and pulled the connection apart.  We have now added some nuts to secure this connection (see attached picture), and the ITMy OpLev signal is now found and happy again.
