After Maintenance Day today, I did my first LVEA Sweep of O4 (at about 1140PDT). There were a few items which came up as I swept:
"Confirm no mechanical shorts onto HEPI."
- Noticed a few shorts as I walked the around various chambers.
- Main culprit was a cable or bundle of cables contacting the Crossbeams (the big blue metal boxbeams on top of the HEPI stations and which are connected to the Support Tubes that go into the chamber). Noticed this mainly for HAM1/2/3 (some were obvious, others looked like shorts, but still had a tiny air gap), but there was a single cable on HAM6 which contacts the east crossbeam.
- See examples of these "shorts" in photos 1-7.
- HAM5/6 had some much better handling of bundles of cables which were intentionally suspended up and away from the Crossbeams.
"Cranes in their "parking spots"
- Noticed some cranes a couple feet off from the "parking spots" signs, but maybe it's close enough?
"Unplug unused power supplies/extension cords"
- Found one for the FARO near the Roll-Up doors; I thought they might have forgotten this, but he said they did this when the FARO was near the Y-Beam manifold and asked me to keep it plugged in.
At any rate, these were items noticed during my LVEA sweep. I did not change ANYTHING (above) mainly because I had not done a sweep in ages, and perhaps these are things we are "OK" with. At any rate, just wanted to share observations from an old operator. :)
