Summary- The IFO seems stable with ANALOG_CARM, and several ASC loops have been engaged.
- The recycling gain is fairly good (usually around 48-49 when we get to resonance).
- There was one lock last night where we were in PREP_ASC for long enough to see what the ADS signals were, they were at about the level of the limiters for pitch, so we would move the spot positions if we were to engage these loops (or walk them). (screenshot)
- Several of the locklosses were caused by a 90 Hz ring up, although none of the LSC OLGs that Ryan measured last night seem unstable there. (screenshot) This was probably caused by the gain of MCL being too high in the state resonance, this morning we moved the gain reduction for MCL from CARM_TO_ANALOG to resonance so that we can sit more stably in this state. (MCL OLG screenshot)
- PRCL UGF seemed a bit low at 30Hz, we increased the gain from 8 to 14 to get the ugf at 50 Hz (screenshot). We’ve now added this gain to the input matrix used in DRMI_TO_POP.
- Elenna noticed that SRC align doesn’t check if the AS WFS are centered, only refl. REFL used to be used for src align but now AS45 is used. Updated align_ifo guardian
- We can close MICH P and Y, and CHARD, PRC2, INP1 P and Y. REFL loop signs have flipped, this is updated in LSCparams. Probably flipped due to rephasing, refl45 phases changed by ~90 deg
- Louis updated CARM_TO_ANALOG to skip multiple gain redistribution stages & added some gain adjustments to bring the CARM UGF to ~16kHz (plot). We must have lost some optical gain or something because the CARM gains from O4 would leave the CARM UGF at closer to 8kHz. We can come back to revisit the gain distribution from a noise perspective down the road.
- The IFO has now been sitting at CARM_TO_ANALOG for 40 minutes, I've had to touch PRM and SRM to keep the build ups good since there isn't much ASC engaged right now. Lost lock because I think I clicked the wrong place with my no machine lagging.
- I looked at ASC_C while sitting in ANALOG_CARM, although the vioiln modes look huge on the RF DARM spectrum, they aren't big enough to be a problem on AS_C.
