Bi-Monthly HEPI Pump Checks (FAMIS #13497)

All HEPI pumps are running well. Noted no new or increased leaks.
CS - Level 6 5/16", No change from last check.
EX - Level 7 13/16, No change from last check.
EY - Level 8 14/16, No change from last check.

Bi-Monthly Dust Monitor Vacuum Pump Checks (FAMIS #13007)
All three dust monitor vacuum pump are running well.
Made small tweaks to vacuum pressure at End-X and End-Y.
The CS pressures are good. All temperatures are within spec.
Noted no carbon dust on any of the three mufflers.

Completed guardian log rotation/expiration change (WP 8536, ECR 1900337)

The h1guardian1 journald config was changed to hold onto logs for only the last 2 months, and to increase individual log file size from 128M to 512M.  This should significantly speed up guardian log access.  The change mirros what was done at LLO in November (LLO alog 50166).

etckeeper was also installed on h1guardian1 to track config changes in /etc, and the above change was committed:

Arm Access Roads
Both arms are passable all the way to the end stations for vehicle traffic. X-2 has a slight buildup of tumbleweeds near the end station but not enough to cause concern. There are still blind spots on the corners, PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY.

After 48 Hz scattering mitigation, HAM3 requires an order of magnitude increase in vibration to affect DARM.

Summary: To help determine priorities for stray light mitigation during the O3-O4 break, I measured the residual coupling in the HAM3 area, and found it to be low. So I don’t think that HAM3 work to reduce light on the chamber walls is highest priority, though it would mitigate risk associated with alignment changes.

In the fall, we used impulse propagation delays and location-dependent beating from separated shakers to localize the source of 48 Hz scattering to HAM3 door areas (https://alog.ligo-wa.caltech.edu/aLOG/index.php?callRep=52184). We removed the 48 Hz peak from DARM by inserting black glass in the illuminator port, but we didn’t get the chance to measure the residual coupling, which had the potential to be fairly large because the light from the scraper baffle illuminated more of the door and nozzle than just the viewport (see above link, Figure 2).

 The figure below shows that I had to increase the vibration level at HAM3 by a factor of 10 between 35 and 50 Hz in order to increase the DARM noise floor. Also shown is the large broad 48 Hz peak and harmonics that appeared when the black glass was briefly removed without changing the settings.

These results suggest that blocking the remaining light from the PR2 scraper baffle and other stray light on HAM3 is not the highest priority (I would say HAM5-6 noise, likely from the septum, is). However, work on HAM3 would mitigate the risk of a coupling increase with alignment changes.

Optical Lever 7 Day Trends

FAMIS 11257 Nothing has moved more than a few μrad in the last week. ETMY Pit has moved the most. ITMX and ETMX Pit are past or on thier -10μrad limit.

Tumbleweed report

As we've had some wind over the weekend, I've scanned the cameras to give a heads up for access for tomorrows maintenance day. 

Y arm is clear down the arms. For trucks, it maybe be a tight squeeze going around MY and going around corner station onto y arm. (Photos linked) 

X arm is narrow but clear to MX but there are a few small blockages between MX and EX. (Photos linked)
