H1's been locked over 12hrs & saw a few small earthquakes roll by thru the night, but nothing to worry about. Did see Jupiter & three of its moons last night. ![]()
LOG:
H1 continues to hum along at ~115Mpc. Have observed a few EQs come and go via Seismon, but none were worrisome.

STATE of H1: Observing
INCOMING OPERATOR: Corey
SHIFT SUMMARY: Lost lock early on, did an initial alignment and relocked. Besides that, quiet night.
LOG:
23:00 (16:00) Start of shift
00:43 (17:43) Lockloss while I was making tea, seems like it was caused by a glitch
01:09 (18:09) Unable to lock PRMI, going to initial alignment
01:44 (18:44) Initial alignment complete, re-locking
02:35 (19:35) Accepting negligible sdf differences (~10^-14), going into Observing
07:00 (00:00) End of shift
Had an early lockloss at 00:43 (17:43) that seemed to knock us pretty far out of alignment, so I started an initial alignment and we went back to Observing at 02:35 (19:35). Still in Observing, wind is dying down and microseism is quite low.
I stepped out to get a cup of tea and found the IFO unlocked when I returned. The normal lockloss site is hitting an error somewhere early in the analysis, so I ran the analysis on an older version of the code (linked below). There is a glitch seen in ETMX L3 about ten seconds before lockloss, at which point SRC1 and SRC2 start to run away.

STATE of H1: Observing at 113Mpc
INCOMING OPERATOR: Patrick
SHIFT SUMMARY:
Nice shift with H1. H1's been locked for over 16.5hrs (mostly hovering around 113Mpc). Earth was mostly cooperative even with earthquakes which have been turning out to be below marginal (nothing elevated enough to come on the Verbal Alarm).
LOG:
Fairly smooth sailing. H1's been locked for 13hrs.
Noticed a couple of EQs via SEISMON, but so far they appear benign. (but currently monitoring/waiting for one right now).
Only because we have a new procedure for how Operators handle GRB notifications, thought I would document how it has been going (first time I tried this a few days ago, it easily took me about 30-40min, but that was my first try & I had to open up new webpages and really go through this multi-page procedure.)
Anyway, here is how tonight went, and luckily, my browser had previous webpages saved, so I was able to jump to appropriate ones fairly easily.

Microseism once again dipping down into the doldrums. Winds are low, and the moon looked beautiful. Spotted "Pokey" the Porcupine as I walked by the Beam Tube exhibit into the Control Room.
QUICK SUMMARY:
H1 locked for almost 9hrs with BNS range which has been hovering right around 113 Mpc. H1's running 5 by 5 along with L1 & V1.

LOG:
23:00 (16:00) Start of shift
00:12 (17:12) GRB (E335563)
07:00 (00:00) End of shift
Quiet shift so far. The wind has died down, and there was a GRB at 00:12 (17:12).
The plots show 2 months of data, and violin modes that aren't necessarily high enough to get our attention, but their overall trend for 2 months is that they are increasing.
