Sun Oct 13 10:12:24 2024 INFO: Fill completed in 12min 21secs
Overall the fill looks good, but the TCs are not showing their normal winter profile and are getting very close to the -200C limit. Friday 11oct2024 plot shown for comparison.
Also TC-B again looks significantly different from TC-A.

STATE of H1: Microseism, Lock Aquisition
INCOMING OPERATOR: Ryan S
SHIFT SUMMARY: Second saturday tours today, we've been struggling to relock following the EQ due to the elevated secondary microseism.
Lockloss, no clear reason.

STATE of H1: Lock Acquisition

CURRENT ENVIRONMENT:
SEI_ENV state: CALM
Wind: 6mph Gusts, 5mph 3min avg
Primary useism: 0.04 μm/s
Secondary useism: 0.42 μm/s
QUICK SUMMARY:
For the last 2 long lock stretches the range has slowly degraded, as the range decreases the BLRMs rise, it also looks like ZMs 4&6 are drifting which is expected.
There's still an issue with the FC locking, as soon as we go to IR_FOUND in SQZ_FC we lose lock, turning on VCO controls? Camilla and I have been trying things for a little bit to no luck, now we're going to tag in Sheila and or Vicky for more help. I'm seeing if we can get to FREQ_IND SQZing.

SHIFT SUMMARY: Only about an hour of observing time this shift thanks to very high microsiesm and several earthquakes this evening. Fortunately, locking has been mostly automatic despite the frequent locklosses. Violin modes have been elevated due to these locklosses as well.
LOG:
While damping violins, I noticed the SQZ pump ISS wasn't staying locked. Eventually I got to the solution of increasing the SHG launch power, but I first touched up the fiber polarization alignment by adjusting the half-wave plate on SQZT0 right before the fiber (motor 3) and minimizing the SQZ-SHG_FIBR_REJECTED signal (instructions found in alog71761). Then, I increased the SQZ-SHG_LAUNCH signal to about what it was during the previous lock stretch (17.6) by adjusting the half-wave plate immediately after the AOM on SQZT0 (motor 2). After that, I simply re-requested SQZ_MANAGER to FREQ_DEP_SQZ and squeezing was injected without issue.
H1 is currently relocking up to MAX_POWER.
Lockloss @ 04:24 UTC - link to lockloss tool
No obvious cause, but looks like one of those ETMX glitches happened about 750ms before the lockloss (new ETM_GLITCH tag applied correctly by the lockloss tool).

CURRENT ENVIRONMENT:
SEI_ENV state: USEISM
Wind: 9mph Gusts, 6mph 3min avg
Primary useism: 0.06 μm/s
Secondary useism: 0.59 μm/s
QUICK SUMMARY: H1 has been down for the past 5 hours due to several earthquakes and high microseism, but currently relocking up to TRANSITION_FROM_ETMX.
Lockloss at 17:52 UTC, potentially from a 6.2 from Costa Rica.
Relocking is going to be tough, given the rising microseism (getting above 90th percentile), and the winds creeping up.
20:37 UTC lost it at LOWNOISE_LENGTH_CONTROL, the IMC and ASC_AS lost lock 150ms inbetween. 1Hz oscillation in MICH
Towards the end of TRANSITION_FROM_ETMX, a 1Hz oscillation started building up mainly in DHARD_P before we lost lock right when getting to LOWNOISE_LENGTH_CONTROL
H1 finally back to observing after 9.5 hours of downtime fighting several earthquakes and high microseism.

I adjusted the OPO temp from 14:31 to 14:32 UTC and gained ~ 5 Mpc in range
We dropped Observing overnight from 11:47 -> 11:48 UTC and 12:00 -> 12:17 UTC from the ITMY_CO2 laser having to relock.

SHIFT SUMMARY: Very quiet shift tonight; H1 was locked and observing for the duration with the current lock stretch up to 8 hours. One high profile GW candidate and a couple small earthquakes came through, but not much else to report.
After finding that the source of the broad 60 Hz shoulders in L1 appears to be a problem with line subtraction, as reported in LLO alog 773549, we have checked for possible related issues in H1. We have found that unlike in L1, the broad shoulders appear after October 1st instead of after September 17th as can be seen by checking at L1:GDS-CALIB_STRAIN vs L1:GDS-CALIB_STRAIN_NOLINES vs L1:GDS-CALIB_STRAIN_CLEAN at different points in time during these dates, where the shoulders appear in NOLINES and CLEAN. It would also appear like before September 17th the substraction was not ideal either, since there are still some small shoulders

the current gstlal-calibration was installed at both sites on September 3rd (not September 5th as I've been telling people). At LHO at 17:52 UTC and at LLO at 17:19 UTC.
As in LLO, the shoulders seem to get worse getting closer to September 17th, but before then h(t) values for GDS_CALIB_STRAIN_NOLINES and GDS_CALIB_STRAIN_CLEAN shouldering 60 Hz still appear to be higher than GDS_CALIB_STRAIN, including before and after maintenance on September 3rd. Adding additional plots before and after September 3rd showing this behaviour. Example from June 10th:![]()
