Lab reassembly of NCAL and inspection of cleaned parts 01st October 2019. ------------- Team Members ------------- Timesh Mistry TM Rick Savage RS ---------------- Things we need ---------------- 600 wet and dry ----------------- LAB notes ----------------- Bearing are not sealed. How do we keep grease in them or should we replace them with sealed bearings. Dowel pins from the side chassis by 0.6". Consider pressing the dowels out and instering shorter ones such that disassembly is easier in the future or press the oringal ones out far enough to be suitable length. Polised the shaft with scotchbrite pad where the bearing had been rubbing. The back plate has non uniform thickness, checked using a micrometer 241-259. The backing plate could be conisdered boring over sized hole offset from the rotor holes that contain the masses to allow easier install/removal of masses as well as eaier to perform maintenance on the bores in the NCAL rotor. Rotor confirmed to have uniform thickness. Used 2" micrometer Consider a top place for safety to retain slugs incase they jump out. Raised concern over the cleaned aluminium shaft interfacing with the cleaned NCAL rotor will seize.
