Morning of June 13th, 2022 Confirmed ISI in HAM2 and 3 were fully isolated BUT -- note that HAM2 HEPI is locked. (Jim sneakily has force the HPI isolation loop gains to be zero with a master gain that the HPI Guardians don't know anything about, H1:HPI-HAM2_ISO_GAIN) Jim unlocked HEPI HAM1, brought manager to ROBUST_ISOLATED, which adjusted DC alignment (~70 urad) Channels to trend later if we need them Location: Current setpoint: Residual: H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RX_LOCATIONMON H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RX_SETPOINT_NOW H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RX_RESIDUALMON H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RY_LOCATIONMON H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RY_SETPOINT_NOW H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RY_RESIDUALMON H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RZ_LOCATIONMON H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RZ_SETPOINT_NOW H1:HPI-HAM1_IPS_RZ_RESIDUALMON Turned alignment sliders OFF on RMs Took RM1 M1/2 and M1 to M1 transfer functions (alignment sliders off) Moved power up to 2W Locked IMC << no issues. Saw light on REFL B, not A Turned on RM1/RM2 alignment sliders, 45 counts on REFL B increased 3600, REFL A to 50 Remember: *Alignment sliders are not calibrated in [urad]* RM1 P: -1025 Y: -407 RM2 P: 952 Y: 1082 Turning on input centering loops ASC DC1/2 P/Y Turned off loops (wild oscillation) Clearing RM LOCK P & Y history (twice) of yaw bank Turn on DC centering loops again Yaw input bad (clearing again) Cleared DC Centering loop history << that worked! (duh) Figure out why it doesn't work: Aligning RM1 in yaw to try and make spot look better Good on REFL B, but sum on REFL A is going down (Y: -487), trying other direction Moved a ton more the other way in RM1 yaw (to Y: -147), counts now equal in nsum A and B ~3500, actual PIT / YAW signal "off diode," outside of +/- 1.0 though Moved RM1 down in pitch, got to -935, sum dropping on REFL A again, so back the other direction Back at -1015, but.... now that there's some light on both REFL A and B, just let the computer do what I was doing by hand: Tried centering loops. Good! They work! Here were the alignment sliders at that time: RM1 P: -1015 Y: -147 RM2 P: 952 Y: 1082 DC loops now working bc 3000 counts on WFS "Offloading WFS" by taking loops requested numbers from RM1/2 LOCK P/Y OUT moved them to alignment offsets for both RMs (Slowly moving aligment sliders by the values requested by the LOCK OUT bank while the loops are closed, eventually getting the requested output to 0 ish) New alignment slider values - RM1 P: -1155 Y: -97 (DAQ output request is 13000 max) - RM2 P: 2122 Y: 382 (DAQ output request for LL and UR is 27000, UL and LR is 18000) 1339177324 - Good time when WFS DC offloaded, RM alignment sliders good, RM DAC output is what it is Setting up taking HEPI WFS measurement: Checked that PRM is aligned, all IMs aligned, misaligned PR3 Using templates from LHO alog:63474 17:48 UTC started excitation on HAM1 HEPI (500 amplitude) 17:50 UTC HAM1 HEPI excitation (2000 amplitude), tripped WD 17:56 UTC HAM1 HEPI excitation (1000 amplitude, 10 sec ramptime), tripped WD 18:02 UTC HAM1 HEPI excitation (500 amplitude, 10 sec ramptime) *Alignment of HEPI doesn't seem to impact beam/RM alignment* *Amplitude driving iso z excitation DAC output for 500 counts is RMS of 4000* Retaking transfer function w/ centering loops off Reference traces on template used: 110-113 TT_L4C_Z REFL A/B DC P/Y Reclosed centering loops Templates in /ligo/home/jeffrey.kissel/2022-06-13 ## Prep for Betsy's work: Turn OFF WFS DC centering all at once with z switch H1:ASC-DC1_P INPUT OFF; z switch H1:ASC-DC1_Y INPUT OFF; z switch H1:ASC-DC2_P INPUT OFF; z switch H1:ASC-DC2_Y INPUT OFF; (if you do it slowly, by hand, then the last loop tries to integrate off into the weeds and leaves a large LOCK OUT request which isn't real.) Once in chamber, t'was an easy rince and repeat: - turn on HPI isolation loops - turn on RM1/RM2 alignment sliders. - move sliders around a bit til you see a nsum of ~3600 on B, ~2900 on A. - close DC centering loops - Take measurement Got bored of waiting for HPI by the last two measurements so left it on and isolated while Betsy was adjusting the RMs -- HPI didn't care. Cool, saved 5 minutes between iterations.
