6 hour ring heater tests running tonight 8pmPST to 2am

Vicky has started 6 hour ring heater tests for 2W running tonight 8pm to 2am PST. For ITMY, ETMX, ETMY. These are longer and more powerful than usual as recommend by Marie.

The nominal settings of the ring heaters are 0.44W for EX  and 0.68W for EY. These will be put back at the end of the test (currently only for happens for script ring_heater_schedule_shutterALS.py, the other scripts set power back to zero).

Attached results of the three ring heater tests taken last night. We took new references for all while the ALS was shuttered last night.  All spherical powers go negative as expected.

  • ITMY looks very good (note that the green filter is still off alog62225).
  • ETMY looks okay but a little noisy. The coupling between spherical power and probe pixel value (alog62098) seems to have gone for this optics but appears for ETMX!!!
  • ETMX doesn't look good but the spherical power does change in the expected direction. There is now coupling between spherical power and probe pixel value.

See alog 62323 for Vicky's comparison of the ETMX HWS beam changing during the ring heater test.
Attached are images (made using Aidan's code) of the beam changing while the optic goes from cold to hot and then from hot to cold. This is why the probe pixel power is changing but if Hartman is well aligned we do not expect the images to visibly change

This isn't is the ITM beam as the ITM beam would come in from the top left.
The ETMX oplevs do not change enough to see anything- there is a small amount of dirft with the RH test but only ~3x the noise level, see ndscope.

Can we repeat these RH tests with the Hartmann plate removed and the cameras just streaming images directly to disk? We might get a better idea of what is going on with the intensity profile.

Also - was this RH test the only thing thing the IFO was doing during this time? No other locking/commissioning work?

No other commissioning or locking work was going on during the time of these tests. If the IFO allows we can take off the plate and redo the test.
