dust monitor code bug
There may be a bug in my code, where the dust monitors that are set to beep are not having the data recorded when the dust monitor beeps.

replaced dust monitor
I replaced the dust monitor at location 15 in the LVEA (in the clean room over BSC8) with the dust monitor at location 7 in the LVEA. The dust monitor at location 15 in the LVEA had a sensor failure.

Persicope for 532nm beam on ALS table (Dan, David)
We installed the properly-handed mirror mount for the upper periscope mirrors of the ALS green path on the in-air table. The slots in the baseplate for the 1/4-20 bolts were just a hair too narrow for the bolts, so we used the initial baseplate (which is right-handed, if you think of the extra tab as a 'thumb'). Pictures attached.

BSC6 Seismic install progress
GregG, MitchR, JimW

We intended to float and do some rough leveling on BSC6 today, but ran into a couple of road blocks. First off, the sync cables for the CPS's were found to be too short. One cable just barely made it, but the other cable was too short by a couple of feet. We found a 25ft cable, but realized a little late the it had the wrong gender on one end to be used by itself, so it is currently being used as an extension. After that was figured out and the CPS's were powered up, we found two sensors were railed. Preliminary investigations found no loose connections, but we did find a suspicious kink in one sensor cable. We will continue looking at this tomorrow.

So, instead of floating, we installed cable brackets. No pics right now, there's a bit of clean up still to be done there.

PLX installed in BSC6
The PLX hollow transfer retro-reflector is nested in the spool at BSC6 and semi aligned.
Please be careful working around it as it is expensive, sensitive and replacement is 6-8 weeks out.

Hartmann sensor electronics install - HWS/ALS table
Greg and I installed the HWS electrical feedthrough panel on the D1200101-v2 on the in-air table. Unfortunately the panel was 5mm too long (which we fixed in the machine shop) and the Delrin insert for the 37-pin feedthrough butts up against the internal frame of the enclosure (see attachment). We'll need to rev the panel design to solve these issues.

We're still assembling all the cables necessary for the install. Tomorrow we'll finish wiring it all up.

PSL down

Rick, Michael R

We have shut down the PSL after discovering the diode chiller flow had dropped from 22 lpm to 13 lpm over the weekend. This appears to be caused by a collapsed water filter (photo is attached). The current filters in use are 1 micron, but we plan on swapping them out with 5 micron filters this week.

H2 SUS ETMY testing summary
The following list summarizes the latest phase of testing on the H2ETMY Quad.

Diagonalization of TOP stage OSEMs:
Alog #2448
Data:

'~/sus/trunk/QUAD/H2/ETMY/SAGR0/Results/2012-03-14_H2SUSETMY_M0_Yaw_Diagonalization_25cts.pdf

Lower stage OSEMs are aligned and centered - all four L1 stage OSEMs are fairly well-aligned, but two of the remaining L2 OSEMs need to be adjusted. The remaining two are within range, but about ~5000cts from the limits.

Damping loop functionality - Damping loops close robustly, but performance has not been fine-tuned. The QUAD has gone several continuous nights with the damping loops closed and not triggering watchdogs. Closed loop transfer functions with damping enabled have been taken.

plots of dust counts
Attached are plots of dust counts > .5 microns. The dust monitor at location 15 in the LVEA (under the clean room over BSC8) was reading a sensor failure for some time today. It seems to have gone away for now. I have included a plot of the mode (H0:PEM-LVEA_DST15_MODE) to show when it was not valid.

In-vac ISC cables for TMS connected to feed-throughs; tested picomotors and beam diverter (Cheryl & Dan)
We plugged in the in-vacuum ISC cables for TMS-Y this afternoon, following the schematic D1003085-v6. The two QPD cables (type D1000924) were connected to the top feed-thru connector of sub-flanges #1 and 2 on flange F2. The picomotor and beam diverter cables (type D1000223) were connected to the bottom feed-thru connectors on the same sub-flanges. The picomotor cable is on sub-flange #2, the beam diverter is on sub-flange #1. (Sub-flange #1 is on top, 2 and 3 are on the bottom, in flange F2. Sub-flange #3 is a blank at the moment, I think it's supposed to be the ESD feed-thru?) The cables were loosely coiled together with a cable-tie and the attachments at the feedthru are nicely strain-relieved.

Then, we tested the picomotors and beam diverter. All the picomotors were heard to squeal when driven from the in-air side of the flange. The beam diverter moved when ~4V were applied across the coil. The reed switch that is not stuck was seen to change state. The reed switch that was known to be stuck is...still stuck.

In the chamber, there are three SUS cables that are currently not connected to feed-throughs. Two are for the TMS SUS, and are intended for flange E3. The other is (I think) meant for flange F3. We left them unplugged since we didn't think we'd need to damp anything.

When we looked at the in-air side of flange F2 there were two cables connected to the ISC feed-throughs. These cables were labeled H2-SUS-TMSY, so I think they're supposed to go to flange E3. We unplugged them and left them in the cable tray.

BSC6 Progress
GregG, JimW

Today Stage 1 Vibration absorbers were mostly installed. This required removing the Stage 1 doors and driving out some 1/2" dowels that were part of the pre-vibration-absorber design. The "buckets" were then added and filled with their viton pads and steel masses. Install couldn't be completed because some precision shims have gone MIA, so the lids are just held in place with screws, not tightened down. Hope to have the correct shims in hand soon.

Stage 0-1 spring TMD's were also installed and cable routing to the racks was electronically verified, the only things missing are the cable isolation brackets and the routing of the sync cables between the CPS racks. All in all we are in good shape to float and rebalance whenever other subsystems are ready.

BSC6 ETMY CPS cabling connected & feedthrus protected
I connected the air-side Capacitive Position Sensors Cables to the Feed thrus and installed the feedthru protectors. The protection shrouds aren't secured very tightly as I was unable to find usable tools and I expect leak checking will require their removal anyway. The cable is not strain relieved also for the second reason.

A photo below for your pleasure.
